BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)

This course is for health care providers and/or those entering the health care profession. It is also for anyone who wants to learn how to perform CPR. The BLS Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both pre-hospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics. Basic Life Support training reinforces healthcare professionals’ understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR on an adult, infant, and child, relieving choking, and using an AED will be taught. An American Heart Association certification is good for 2 years and will be awarded upon successfully completing the course.

A current copy of the AHA BLS Provider book is mandatory and available to purchase for $20.00 or you can purchase the e-book online.

This course is for health care providers and those seeking renewal. Your certification cannot be expired. Please bring your AHA BLS Provider book to class. If you do not have a book you can purchase one on your own or from us for $20.00, or you can purchase the e-book online.

You can register for this renewal course only if your card is still valid.

HEARTCODE BLS SKILLS PARTS 2 and 3

A skills session is the hands-on portion of an AHA eLearning course and includes Parts 2 and 3—skills practice and testing. It is conducted in-person after a student completes Part 1 online.

ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT INITIAL (ACLS)

The ACLS course builds upon the foundation of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous high-quality CPR. This advanced course highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. ACLS also covers airway management and related pharmacology. Topics of learning include: management of airway control and ventilation, dysrhythmia recognition, cardiac monitoring, synchronized cardioversion, defibrillation, pharmacology for cardiac care, management of acute MI and stroke, and management of bradycardia and tachycardia patients.

Prior to taking this course you must complete the ACLS precourse test with a 70% or better, you must print your test results and bring it to class with you. All students must attend and participate in the entire course, demonstrate proficiency in CPR skills, pass required skills tests, and pass the required written test with an 84%. An American Heart Association certification is good for 2 years and will be awarded upon successfully completing the course.
